Fractional and Interim Leadership
I step into fractional and interim roles with a clear head, a strategic eye, and a commitment to keeping your mission moving.
Fractional Leadership for Nonprofits
Many non-profit organizations need senior leadership yet they struggle to find qualified full-time staff. A fractional engagement gives you an experienced leader at the level you need — part-time, flexible, and focused on results — without the overhead of a permanent hire.
Why I Do This Work
I've spent over two decades in the nonprofit sector as an executive director, a development director, and a fundraising consultant across arts, education, housing, and human services organizations. I'm just as comfortable stepping into a defined role as I am walking into an ambiguous one and building the structure from scratch.
My range of expertise is what makes fractional and interim work a natural fit. Having worked across so many different organizations and contexts with volunteer and staff teams, I come in already fluent in how non-profits operate as well as the pressures, patterns, and stressors in different situations. I hit the ground running, bring a consulting mindset to solving problems quickly, and think about the long game from day one.
Where Fractional Leadership Fits
There's no single reason an organization needs fractional or interim leadership. Some are navigating a transition. Some are growing faster than their current structure can support. Some have a major initiative underway and need someone to carry it steadily to the finish line. Some are simply at a point where part-time senior support would make everything else run better.
If any of these sound familiar, it's worth a conversation:
A key leadership role is open and you need someone in it while you figure out what comes next
A significant initiative (such as a campaign, major grant, or program expansion) needs experienced oversight and hands on support to stay on track
Your organization is at an inflection point and you need strategic support without adding a full-time position
You have a strong team but no one at the senior level to think alongside them day-to-day
Your organization has been led by volunteers, but the time has come to explore adding professional staff
What I Bring to a Leadership Gap
I don't need a long runway. Within a couple of weeks I can be in active conversations with your donors, board, and team.
I've run organizations, not just development functions — board management, staff support, fundraising, and everything in between.
I bring an assessment instinct to every role. I'm not just covering the calendar. I notice what's been missed and handle it.
I've been on both sides of a leadership gap — left behind when a leader departed, and brought in to fill one. I understand both experiences.
I do this work because I'm committed to your long-term success. I often step into roles with no defined end in sight. I genuinely enjoy how these engagements evolve, and I take pride in helping organizations find their footing and move forward.
